Artus inventor and Founding Fellow Roger Olsen embodies the organisation’s founding purpose – to reduce the carbon impact of the built environment on the planet.
Inspired by history’s great inventors, driven by a desire to do things differently, to do things better.
Roger’s fascination with invention began aged 10. At 16 he became interested in the Greenhouse Gas Effect. These two deep-rooted interests have combined in his invention of the Artus solution.

We reimagined the approach to air conditioning with a clear purpose on the fundamentals. Reducing carbon, optimising comfort, and making it as simple as possible to heat and cool buildings as effectively as possible.

Our units were designed with carbon front of mind. And we have achieved this with 66% less whole-life carbon than traditional fan coil units. This is proven by independent EPD verification and demonstrates the impact of our innovation.

When it comes to air conditioning, comfort is paramount. With our patented air distribution design, we guarantee each space is as comfortable and noise-free as possible. How people experience spaces is a priority for us.

We have innovated to make the air conditioning approach simple. All components are inside the unit. This means less coordination of services. Design options are more flexible with a focus on aesthetics. Contractors experience a smoother installation journey, and everyone is happy.
